A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux

Rusty Robot is a futuristic rogue-like which takes place in a small scientific colony on a distant Red Planet. You play the role of a maintenance robot in a colonial habitat who has been activated due to catastrophic failure in the habitat's life support systems.

It is your directive to search the nearby hills for sources of fuel which can be used to power the habitat's life-support systems and keep the scientists alive until future colony missions can provide a more permanent solution.

The scientists' lives are of utmost concern. All other concerns are secondary.

Install instructions

Windows

  1. Save "7drl-2021-windows.zip" under Downloads to your computer.
  2. Uncompress the archive.
  3. Run RustyRobot.exe

Linux

  1. Save "7drl-2021.x86_64" under Downloads to your computer.
  2. Make the file executable (e.g. chmod +x 7drl-2021.x86_64)
  3. Run 7drl-2021.x86_64

    macOS

    1. Save "7drl-2021.zip" under Downloads to your computer.
    2. Double-click to uncompress the archive.
    3. Right-click RustyRobot (or RustyRobot.app) and choose Open.
    4. Control-click the app icon, then choose Open from the shortcut menu.
    5. Click Open.

    Thanks for the entry! Went through this one on a letsplay on my channel - https://youtu.be/fenUwBvKSnI - took me so long to figure out that I should be going into the crater holes. D’oh. Had fun with it!
